OPELOUSAS CATHOLIC: Educating mind, body, and spirit
Below are some of the ways to support Opelousas Catholic School. In addition
to prayer and service, your generosity will impact the campus life of our students and faculty. To learn how you can help provide for the future of OCS, please contact Kathy Hebert, Advancement Director.
We are pleased to announce our new Donate Online program that will allow our donors to contribute online. We are only accepting donations for our current Angel Appeal Drive. Click here to donate for Angel Appeal 2018-2019.
Foundation Trust Fund
These gifts to the Foundation Trust Fund are gifts that continue giving! The Foundation Trust Fund was established about 26 years ago and has grown to
over $1.9 million as of 2018. Its growth has been facilitated by direct gifts to the Foundation, Angel Appeal gifts, Tasters’ Dinner earnings as well as memorial offerings.
While the Trust increases, so does the annual distribution from its earnings.
Each year 85% of earnings proceeds are issued to OCS to allow sustained
spiritual and academic excellence.
Memorial Program
A gift to the OCS Memorial Program is a meaningful way to memorialize departed friends and loves ones. Gifts are invested perpetually in the OCS Foundation
Trust Fund, and the interest is used to enhance quality Catholic education now
and into the future for the students.
Names of deceased honorees are inscribed in the Opelousas Catholic Memorial Book which is offered at all school masses for remembrance. A special Memorial Card is also sent to the designated family member with the amount of the gift remaining confidential. Please consider this unique and beautiful way of remembering someone special!
Angel Appeal Drive
This annual drive provides an opportunity for gifts which will enhance the Foundation Trust Fund as well as a targeted area of need on campus. Forty
percent of gifts received go directly into the Foundation Trust Fund. Sixty
percent of gifts will go to the transformation of the school library into a modern Media Center for all grades.
Due to the generosity of supporters in 2017-2018, forty percent of the gifts underwrote the purchase of chromebooks, carts and software for students in grades 1-11.
Planned Gifts
Planned gifts may be received by Opelousas Catholic School. They include a bequest in a will, a charitable remainder trust, a gift annuity, or even a gift of real estate. You should consult your financial advisor to determine the tax advantages
of these options.
Technology Donation
Certain individuals may qualify for state tax credits if they donate new technology equipment to the school. For more information on this program, contact the
Principal or Technology Coordinator.
Athletic Trust Fund
Gifts to the OCS Athletic Trust Fund will benefit the junior high and high school athletic program. These may also be made in memory of someone special.
In-Kind Gifts
These gifts made to OCS are gifts of goods and services rather than money.
