OPELOUSAS CATHOLIC: Educating mind, body, and spirit
The Opelousas Catholic Foundation Trust Fund was established on
October 22, 1991 for the following purposes:
• To support and assist Opelousas Catholic School in its educational mission
by providing supplemental funding of program and services.
• To provide additional support for the operation, maintenance, capital
requirements, student scholarships and continued existence of Opelousas
Catholic School.
• To encourage a renewed commitment to Opelousas Catholic School as a
center of quality Catholic education and as an effective educational instrument
to teach doctrine, to build community and to provide service for the needs of the church and community.
• To operate exclusively for religious, charitable or educational purposes within
the meaning of Section 501 © (3) of the Internal Revenue code, as amended.
• To receive any property, immovable or movable, corporeal or incorporeal,
tangible or intangible, real or personal, by donation, bequest, transfer,
assignment, abandonment or any other legal means from any individual,
foundation, association, corporation or any other legal entity, private or public, governmental or non-governmental, for the purposes set forth herein and to administer such property for such purpose or purposes.
• The Trust shall carry out its work in accordance with the policies and guidelines established by the School Board of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lafayette, the Diocesan Office of Catholic Schools and the Opelousas Catholic School Board.
